If you are thinking to visit Istanbul which is a city in Turkey, I can say that this is a great idea. I have visited this city in 2015 and I am still amazed by the places in Istanbul and I am amazed from my trip. Istanbul has a lot to offer to people who visit it. The best part of the city is the blue mosque which is located to the center of the city, but this is not the only one, and it’s not the only place to visit in Istanbul.
Blue mosque is the biggest mosque in Istanbul and it’s a masterpiece as it looks from outside but it’s really beautiful inside to. So if you will visit Istanbul you need to go inside this mosque and you will see how amazing is this mosque from inside. Is also called The Sultan Ahmed Mosque or Sultan Ahmet Mosque is a historic mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. A popular tourist site, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque continues to function as a mosque today; men still kneel in prayer on the mosque’s lush red carpet after the call to prayer. The Blue Mosque, as it is popularly known, was constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I. Its Külliye contains Ahmed’s tomb, a madrasah and a hospice. Hand-painted blue tiles adorn the mosque’s interior walls, and at night the mosque is bathed in blue as lights frame the mosque’s five main domes, six minarets and eight secondary domes. It sits next to the Hagia Sophia, another popular tourist site.
Another beautiful place to visit in Istanbul is Ortakoy Mosque, this mosque is located near the sea and from the outside it looks so amazing. The first time I saw this place I was amazed. It’s really cool to visit this place when you go in Istanbul. Also from this place you can take a close look at the bridge which connect the both sides of Istanbul. Ortaköy Mosque (Turkish: Ortaköy Camii), officially the Büyük Mecidiye Camii (Grand Imperial Mosque of Sultan Abdülmecid) in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Turkey, is situated at the waterside of the Ortaköy pier square, one of the most popular locations on the Bosphorus. The mosque is “pint-sized” in comparison to other mosques “on the other side of the golden horn”. The mosque was built in Neo-baroque style. In the interior of the mosque, there are wide, “high bay windows” which refract its reflection in water as well as daylight. There are also several panels of calligraphy by Abdülmecid I himself.
Taking a boat road through the Bosphorus Canal in Istanbul turkey is another thing that you should do when you will visit Istanbul. The price for the boat trip is cheap, the prices are from 3-5 Euros for person and you get a really great view of the both sides of Istanbul city. The boat also goes to the bosphorus bridge and you can take a closer look at the bridge. Also if you are a person who love to see how the bridge is built and how it looks from the bottom you have this chance by taking a boat road in Istanbul.
Visiting Taksim Square is another thing that you need to do in Istanbul. If you will visit this square than you need to take a ride with this little trains which is shown on the picture. The square itself is so amazing, you have a little road to walk and the both sides of the road are full with stores like fashion store, doner restorant and much much more. Taksim Square (Turkish: Taksim Meydanı), situated in Beyoğlu in the European part of Istanbul, Turkey, is a major tourist and leisure district famed for its restaurants, shops, and hotels. It is considered the heart of modern Istanbul, with the central station of the Istanbul Metro network. Taksim Square is also the location of the Monument of the Republic (Turkish: Cumhuriyet Anıtı) which was crafted by Pietro Canonica and inaugurated in 1928. The monument commemorates the 5th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, following the Turkish War of Independence.
This is what I can suggest for Istanbul, Turkey. For me it was a great trip and I had a great time visiting this city. If you want a really cheap city to visit than Istanbul is the right one for you. Also the food in this city is amazing, you have a lot of food options to choose in this city and you also should try Traditional Turkish food which is delicious. I hope you will find this post informative and I hope you enjoy it.
