FORMULA 1 driver Pascal Wehrlein was involved in a terrifying head-on collision into the barrier at the Monaco Grand Prix.
The 22-year-old clipped Jenson Button’s Honda as they approached a corner on lap 63 of the stellar race today. It tipped his Sauber car onto its side before slamming his cockpit into the tyres.
In nail-biting footage from inside the vehicle, the true force of the crash can be seen.
Incredibly, Wehrlein made contact with his engineers soon after the incident to confirm he was not seriously injured.
